We want to extend a word of warm welcome to all who are visiting the pages of Protecting Children. We hope you will find the site easy to navigate through the side bar on the left of the page. There are many resources including assistance for survivors of clergy sexual abuse, background screening and information on safe environment programs in the parishes and schools. If you are interested in reporting sexual abuse perpetrated by a member of the clergy or a church employee/volunteer we encourage you to contact the Office of Pastoral Support and Outreach or make a complaint by clicking here. This office was established in 2002 to assist those women and men, families and parishes who are suffering in the aftermath of sexual abuse. Shame and fear have made it especially difficult for people to speak of the harm perpetrated on them when they were children. Be assured that you will be received in an atmosphere of respect, kindness and safety.
Thank you for visiting the Protecting Children site. We are working diligently each day to ensure the safety of children and young people in the parishes and schools of the Archdiocese of Boston and to support survivors, families and parishes on their journey of healing.
